I am retired and the wife of a retired minister, who is currently serving a church part time. I spent my working life running a variety of different offices and as a childcare provider for the Department of Defense.

 While living in Angel Fire, New Mexico I took my first watercolor classes from two different artists. I continued to paint with watercolors when we moved to Bloomfield, Indiana. 

 

Both my husband and I retired and moved back to Pennsylvania to be able to spend time with our children and three grandsons. It was after moving back to Pennsylvania that I began painting with acrylics and learning to use them on my own.

I have since taken a few online classes in acrylics, but mostly I just like to play around with acrylics and adding different things to them to see what the outcome is. I still enjoy watercolors, and I also enjoy painting 3-D and textured pictures with acrylics, using different techniques and sometimes even mixing acrylics with watercolors.

I simply enjoy trying new things and playing with both watercolors and acrylics to see what I can come up with. We have a travel trailer, and I get new ideas for paintings while traveling and seeing America. We also enjoy vacations in Europe and were lucky to live in Germany for three years when my husband was an Army Chaplain. All our travels have given me many ideas and inspirations for my paintings. I enjoy gifting my art to family, friends and members of our church, sharing my art gives me great joy.
